The internet warriors of the US Air Force have finally been properly recognized: the USAF just introduced a Cyberspace Badge. It’s about about time the grunts on the front lines of network warfare got their wings. More »

    @lolcopter: Haha! Dude, I’m AF and I thought that was funny. It is disturbing, I saw a Russian army video where they got kicked in the chest over and over. The Mil is full of crazy rituals.

    Hey! I just swapped out my C&I badge for that! All previously-33S officers became 17Ds on 1 May & now get to wear those wings. (And yes, my job does entail sitting in a windowless room with a 10′ video wall monitoring classified networks. If I were to say more, I’d have to kill you.)

    PS – This wing badge is for officers only; the enlisted guys still wear a “traditional”-style badge.

    on one hand, looks close enough to pilot wings to get you laid. On the other hand, you’d have to be somewhere dark.

    In other news, Boy Scouts of America have announced their new “Wardriving Merit Badge”.

    Young little scamps across the nation will have to build their own cantennas and successfully crack both WEP and WPA encryptions in an alotted time period in order to add this new badge to their sash.
