This phone is not very well supported by Motorola. The latest Motorola Phone Tools does not even support it, so there is no way to upload your saved contacts from your old phone. You have to type in all your phone numbers manually, which really, really sucks.

i wanted a low cost gsm phone that played music. since buying this, i found out i still need another gsm phone for europe. like the other reviews, i’ll agree the sound quality is excellent which makes it a great phone. my other motorola tfc139 which cost less does have more tactile dialing buttons. i really want to use this as my primary mp3 player so i had to buy several cards and cables before i could get this to work. the manual did not help me. seems when i finally got a cable that worked, it didn’t recognize the previous music i put on the sd card through the adaptor slot, so i needed to reformat and add the music again. also i’ve seen it advertised as having flight mode, but i haven’t figured out how to do it, i want to be able to turn off the phone while listening to music. my other motorola phone has a bigger battery which lasts longer and probably needs to be replaced less often and also a rubber edge which made buying a gel skin unnecessary for me because i drop phones. with having to buy cards and cables, a gel skin, and probably a replacement battery earlier than needed, this phone is not that eco friendly. the government should probably step in and regulate these companies a little, they come out with new batteries and cables on almost every new version of their products, they’re gouging us and polluting unnecessarily.

The main reason to get this phone is because it is made out of recycled materials. The production process is said to be “carbon free.” A great reason to buy this phone is because it’s environmentally responsible.
Now, this phone may not be for everyone as you have to pay for the minutes you use but the cost is very reasonable. Simply the best and most simple plan I have found so far. No strings, no hassle. The “pay as you go” is perfect for me as I don’t always use a ton of minutes every single month. T-mobile is VERY nice in that you don’t have to pay a huge monthly bill. Instead, you can purchase the number of minutes you want (refill them as often as you want to) and they don’t expire for quite some time. This plan and phone are perfect for me. It is also very easy to refill the phone’s minutes online through T-mobile’s website.
GREAT phone for people who don’t “live” on their cell phones. Very flexible plans, very easy to use. I just got my cute little phone and so far I absolutely adore it. I will buy one for my parents for Christmas and would highly recommend it to others.

I bought this phone to replace a much more expensive Nokia phone which I lost. And I end up enjoying this phone so much more than the previous phone. For a basic mobile phone, the Motorola Renew is the best. The battery life is very impressive. Motorola claims you can talk on it for 9 hours. I guess it depends on other factors as well. If you only want a cheap basic mobile phone which does its job well, this is your perfect choice. Its carbon-neutral status is definitely an incentive to buy. However, even if it wasn’t a “green” phone, it would still be a very good buy. If you’re still in doubt about this phone (as a replacement or a prepaid), just go for it. I think you won’t be disappointed.

Doing a bit of web surfing and noticed your blog looks a bit screwed up in my K-meleon browser. However luckily scarcely anybody utilizes it any longer however you may want to take a look into it.
