I just purchased an Axim X51V. I have read user reviews that suggest doing an ActiveSync fix prior to using the device. Does anyone know the location of the instructions for the fix? It is very difficult to find on both the Dell and Aximsite forums. My one star rating is due to the fact that I have not used the Axim yet. Thanks.

Dell sent me not one but three of these Axims, until I received one that worked properly…for a few months. After numerous calls to people I could barely understand (After 14 calls in 3 months I gave up), an obsurd amount of visits to their website (their web based support equals intense stress) I decided it’s not worth the heartache to fight Dell to fix it or supply a 4th one that might work. I also see on Craigslist many new Dell products people are trying to unload, including many laptops and Axims, no surprise here. Their customer service is deplorable, bar none.

I like making video phone calls with my new Dell Axim X51v PDA. I when to http://www.instantstream.com and setup an account, the guys at instantstream call me up and installed streamphone on my PDA and sent me a video cam. In about 3 minutes after getting my web cam i made my first wireless video call to my friends and wow, I have made many many more video calls and video conference meeting while sitting in my local Starbucks on my T-mobile hotspot account. …

The Dell Axim X51v I purchased was a refurbished unit which I expected to come without some of the goodies (packaging, cables) that accompany a new unit. BUT, this unit lacked the cradle (a big deal in my book) as well as the plug that closes the large CF card opening in the top (cosmetic, but a serious shortcoming). The unit works perfectly well, but I was disappointed with the fact that it was missing pieces. If you already have an Axim X51 and need a replacement unit, this refurb is fine. You can replace the missing parts from your old one. Not recommended if you do not.
